* Michigan Court of Appeals Judges serve statewide but are elected from Districts.
* Judge William C. Whitbeck serves the citizens of the entire State of Michigan by hearing and deciding cases appealed to the Michigan Court of Appeals from all 83 of Michigan's counties.
* Judge William C. Whitbeck is elected from the Fourth Judicial District (in red on this map) which includes 58 of Michigan's 83 counties, including all of the Upper Peninsula and most of the Lower Peninsula.
* Each of the four Judicial Districts of the Court of Appeals have a population of roughly 3 million.
